Terms of Service

Effective 25 August 2026

1. About Mathumi

Mathumi is an online maths learning service that provides assessments, personalised learning pathways, practice sets, progress tracking and related educational features for learners and their parents or guardians.

2. Who may use Mathumi

A parent or legal guardian must create and manage the family account and is responsible for any learner profiles linked to that account. You must provide accurate information and keep your login details secure.

3. Educational service, not a guarantee of results

Mathumi is designed to support maths learning and identify areas for practice. Results depend on many factors, including learner participation and consistency. We do not guarantee any particular school grade, assessment result, qualification outcome or rate of progress.

4. Subscription pricing

The current standard price is NZ$45 per month for the first active child and NZ$35 per month for each additional active child. Prices are shown before checkout and may change in future. If pricing changes for an existing subscription, we will give reasonable notice where required.

5. Billing

Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance using Stripe. Adding a child during a billing period may result in an immediate prorated charge for the remainder of that period. Removing a child reduces the amount due at the next renewal; the current prepaid period is not automatically refunded.

6. Cancellation

You may cancel through the billing portal. Unless otherwise stated, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period and access continues until that date. See our Refunds & Cancellation Policy for more detail.

7. Acceptable use

You must not misuse Mathumi, interfere with the service, attempt unauthorised access, scrape or copy protected content at scale, share accounts outside your household, or use the service in a way that is unlawful or harmful.

8. Intellectual property

Mathumi, its software, branding, lesson structures, question formats, learning content and related materials are owned by or licensed to Mathumi. Your subscription gives you a limited personal right to use the service; it does not transfer ownership of our intellectual property.

9. Availability and changes

We may improve, modify or discontinue features from time to time. We aim to keep Mathumi available and reliable, but temporary outages, maintenance or third-party service interruptions may occur.

10. Suspension or termination

We may suspend or terminate access where there is serious misuse, fraud, non-payment, security risk, unlawful activity or a material breach of these terms. Where practical, we will provide notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue.

11. Liability and consumer rights

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights under applicable New Zealand consumer law. To the extent permitted by law, Mathumi is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the service.

12. Privacy

Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by New Zealand law and the New Zealand courts have non-exclusive jurisdiction.

14. Contact

Questions about these terms can be raised through the contact details published on Mathumi or through the parent account support channel when available.
